Responsibilities

Financial Shared Services (FSS) is comprised of a group of diverse teams that perform a variety of essential functions that support strategic, regulatory and operational success. Our teams are trusted service advisors/providers that maintain the confidence of our business partners and customers by informing strategic decision-making, providing cost-effective services and timely solving business challenges. There are 2 Finance Supervisor openings, one with FSS- Compensation Services and one with FSS- Resource Team.

The Finance Supervisor within FSS - Compensation Services and has the responsibility for the 1099 Earnings Reporting and FO-Administration teams. The 1099 Earnings Reporting team is responsible for monitoring and accurately reporting reportable payments made in an efficient and cost-effective manner by providing customer service, maintaining financial information, managing compliance obligations, and following established policies. Additionally, the FO-Administration team is responsible for providing access and ordering equipment for multiple business areas across Financial Operations.

The FSS-Resource Team Supervisor position will lead teams responsible for supporting processes across Financial Operations. The supervisor will be responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely completion of data development and delivery while focusing on optimizing workflow and balancing workload across the support/technician group.

  • Models Key Leadership Behaviors in daily interactions.
  • Manages the day to day responsibilities of 10-15 team members.
  • Seeking a candidate that also has an interest and skills necessary to be portable to other leadership roles within Financial Operations.
  • Provides effective leadership over State Farm Financial Operations by modeling behaviors that encourage curiosity, collaboration, advance technical understanding, inspire ideas, and drive actions and results
  • Responsible for supervision of assigned team, including salary administration, performance assessment, training, and career development of employees
  • Applies Company and departmental philosophies, guidelines, policies, and procedures to assigned team
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates workflow and activities of team members
  • Ensures compliance, application of proper internal controls, and adherence to Company and departmental policies within area of responsibility
  • Assists in the development of departmental goals
  • Ensures successful achievement of team goals and objectives based on departmental needs
  • Accountable and responsible for clarity of purpose, intent and outcomes of the work

Qualifications

  • Preferred Accounting, Finance, or related college degree.
  • Working understanding of financial data and workflow
  • Ability and desire to work cross-functionally and with all levels of leadership
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on driving efficiencies and creating vision
  • May be required to work irregular hours and/or a nonstandard work week as required
