Job Description

Welcome to our Team

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Management Specialist will help run Global Shared Services (GSS) projects end-to-end. The role is critical in that it represents the GSS Global Center and cooperates closely with a wide array of stakeholders within the Organon Global Business Services (GBS), Procurement and Commercial Finance organizations and beyond.

Purpose of the Role

The responsibilities of this role include standard project management activities such as project scope definition, effort assessment, requirements gathering, driving the decision-making processes through to execution and delivery. The role is expected to be a key driver of GSS priorities. Such priorities can include the development and support of Continuous Improvement initiatives, the alignment of approaches with other organizations in Organon, and the local execution of globally led projects. Experience in Procurement Projects is highly valued.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Help managing all PM lifecycle activities from start to finish
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations.
  • Manage internal commitments and leadership expectations in terms of project status, upcoming milestones, scope, budget, quality, and delivery of benefits.
  • Support other GSS priorities and initiatives as needed (example: business continuity planning).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other Organon Organizations as needed.
  • Successfully manage stakeholder relations – GSS-internal as well as with customers.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree (BA, Accounting or Finance valued).
  • Fluency in English (Valued: Other languages also)
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position preferably in a Shared Service Centre environment.
  • Confident handling of Excel functionalities (pivot tables, basic formulas, graphs), MS Teams, MS Project, or similar tools.
  • Good understanding and practical knowledge of core Finance processes. Accounting principles knowledge valued.
  • PMP or PRINCE II certification valued
  • Exposure to internal controls and process standardization preferred.
  • Experience using SAP R/3 preferred. (Valued: experience with SAP S/4 HANA).
  • Experience in Procurement area and/or Procurement Projects is highly valued.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills – ability to manage complex projects.
  • Proactive and positive approach to work.
  • Results-oriented with a clear sense of urgency.
  • Strong process orientation, knowledge of process design tools.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under pressure.
  • Professional experience at an organization with operations across multiple countries.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interested in professional development on the job.
