Eaton’s operations finance team is looking for a Director of Finance to support the global engineering function. This is a visible role and a critical part of Eaton’s innovation and engineering efforts. This position will be based in our corporate office in Beachwood, OH. Relocation assistance is available.

In this role, you will have a direct impact on our future serving as the Finance Business Partner to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

What you’ll do:

This position reports directly into Finance and is responsible for all aspects of business partnering related to Eaton's enterprise-wide engineering efforts and is responsible for the global R&D budget of $750M. As a successful business partner, you will focus on using financial data and analysis to drive value for the global engineering function. This is position is a key member of the CTO's Engineering & Technology leadership team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Strengthen the linkage of engineering spend to revenue growth, cost savings, strategic planning and business performance

• Perform strategic planning for the global engineering function

• Optimize engineering resource allocation and investment to drive increased throughput and higher ROI

• Define actions and initiatives to proactively address risks and deliver on opportunities

• Build strong relationships across functions and businesses to be able to influence and drive change in a highly matrixed and collaborative environment

• Drive increased centralization and standardization across global engineering

• Develop an engineering footprint strategy to increase best cost country utilization and reduce the number of engineering sites worldwide

• Drive zero-based budgeting and prioritization of engineering projects

• Develop key performance indicators to assess engineering productivity and project returns

• Review global engineering financial information with the CTO, senior engineering leadership and sector and divisional management

• Partner with the Director, Project Accounting COE, IT and Engineering Functional Excellence to automate and digitize engineering project accounting and reduce the time spent on these activities by engineering leaders

• Build out the organizational design for engineering business partnering and hire strong, promotable talent for the organization

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution

• Minimum 10 years in ascending leadership roles with finance as a primary focus

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

• Experience in an innovation-driven organization with significant focus on engineering/R&D finance

• Previous experience serving as a business partner to executive leadership; comfort around presenting at executive level

• Experience in a multinational/global organization

The expected annual salary range for this role is $168750.0- $247500.0 a year.
