If you are located in CA or MN, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform UnitedHealth Group Business Reviews
  • Identify business partner needs for conducting analyses
  • Identify the appropriate internal resources to conduct business reviews
  • Collaborate with business partners to assess applicable issues
  • Track mergers and acquisition transactions (stand alone, consolidation, tuck ins) managing multiple acquisitions at once
  • Conduct Valuation and Strategic Screening to Support M&A Activity
  • Compiling of financial statements, audit reports and tax returns for proper review and submission
  • Partner and collaborate with other key functional areas such as Treasury, Operations, Accounts Payable, IT, UHG and Optum Corp teams
  • Identify outliers or exceptions throughout the due diligence process and communicate back to leaders
  • Perform Due Diligence in Support of M&A Execution
  • Provide support to Accounting in developing opening balance sheet and purchase accounting analyses
  • Ensure steps, timeframe, accountabilities and framework are in alignment with UHG goals
  • Jointly work alongside the Corp Dev team to ensure a successful onboarding experience for each acquisition within the PacWest region
  • Ability to work within a matrix organization
  • Perform cash to accrual conversion of acquired companies’ financial statements
  • Map acquired companies’ financial statements to Optum COA of accounts
  • Develop and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Assist with filings required for acquisition close
  • Assist with net working capital and purchase price calculations, as applicable
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of financial and operational management experience
  • Proven experience driving business performance in a high growth environment
  • Work experience anticipating accounting, financial reporting, forecasting and operational issues, assessing their implications and developing and implementing an appropriate action plan
  • Experience working collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment
  • Ability to work on PST hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Experience working in Mergers and Acquisitions and/or corporate development
