This position serves a vital role in supporting many financial planning and analysis workstreams for UHC’s rapidly growing Dual Special Needs Plans (DSNP) business. In this role, you will develop a robust finance skillset, advance your communication skills, and receive exposure to a broad network of individuals across both the Medicare & Retirement (M&R) and Community & State (C&S) businesses.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and report on financial performance for both M&R and C&S leadership
  • Refresh and tie-out monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data in Excel for both the full DSNP book of business, as well as by market. This includes but is not limited to forecast models, budget files, and monthly results
  • Prepare executive-level summaries explaining key forecast drivers, outputs and variances
  • Assist in data control checks and validations, analyzing financial reports to identify data discrepancies or unusual trends, investigating with M&R and/or C&S finance team, and summarizing findings and recommendations to senior team members
  • Contribute to team initiatives and reporting needs as requested
  • Support and help manage team documentation and organization
  • Facilitate various ad hoc analyses and reports as necessary, collaborating with senior team members on path to completion and independently driving progress on assigned tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, formulas, etc.) and other Office applications


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated healthcare industry experience or interest
  • Comfort working with large datasets and/or querying data using SQL or similar language
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and leadership potential
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with tight financial deadlines
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to problem solve

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $67,800 to $133,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
