The Senior Financial Analyst assists with the development of operational budgets and the operating expense and membership forecast process for OptumCare Florida. Responsibilities include profitability reporting, analysis of financial and operational metrics to evaluate business performance, and effective communication of findings to senior leadership. This position provides financial support across several departments including Operations, IT, and Marketing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepares forecasts for membership, FTEs and Operating Expense
- Analyzes workforce and operating cost of various cost centers and clinics
- Complete standard variance reporting and analysis, research variance drivers and explain cause-effect relationships
- Provides financial support for month-end close activities including pre-close estimates, metric and results reporting, and variance analysis
- Monitors and reports key operational and financial metrics on a weekly/monthly basis including FTE tracking
- Assists in the annual budget process utilizing Planful planning tool and Excel-based models
- Creates ad-hoc reporting/analyses as necessary

Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- 2+ years of experience in budget/forecasting and financial statement analytics
- Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, Vlookups, macros)
- Solid financial, analytical, and business acumen
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with staff both locally and in other markets
- Ability to quickly adapt within a dynamic industry and organization
- Solid interpersonal and team skills in order to work with individuals across multiple departments and regions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hyperion Essbase experience a plus
- Healthcare, Medicare, or health insurance industry experience a plus
- Solid communication and presentation skills
- Self-starter able to deal with ambiguity and change while effectively prioritizing to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated, high energy, well-organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
