Description

Based from our offices in Bedford with hybrid working

Are you an International Trade Analyst with Export Licensing knowledge and looking for a challenging role in a small, high performing team?

If you’ve been away on holiday, you may have passed through one of our body scanners or passed your luggage down one of our baggage lines and had it x-rayed. Leidos supplies this technology to airports across the world. We need to be able to move systems and spare parts globally to fulfil our customers’ needs.

As a Senior International Trade Analyst here at Leidos, you’ll be part of the team making all this happen by ensuring we are fully compliant with legislation.

You will:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in providing direction, input and guidance to functions and employees on trade compliance topics.
  • Help to lead the administration of export controls: export classifications, license applications & recordkeeping, ongoing monitoring of regulatory changes in export controls legislation.
  • Mentor less-experienced colleagues in the International Trade Compliance team to share knowledge and best practices while monitoring work output & quality.
  • Supervise the review/approval/recordkeeping process for both inward and outward shipments, including trade data determination, use of import permits and export licenses, Customs measures including carnets, and all required recordkeeping.
  • Ensure that restricted party screenings, software & technology releases are carried out promptly and fully.

You’ll need to be methodical, and detail orientated - checking data is correct and eliminating errors which could cause delayed shipments. There will be plenty of on-the-job training provided to the successful candidate.

Why should you join our team?

We are problem solvers – we often have to think on our feet to solve problems, finding solutions to challenges and mitigating risks.

Development/Growth - We offer meaningful and engaging careers, a collaborative culture, and support for your career goals, all while nurturing a healthy work-life balance. Our managers are committed to individual and collective development and as a global company, there are opportunities to learn and expand your horizons in many different ways.

Reward – we offer a competitive package with great benefits from a pension scheme (contribution matched up to 8%), private medical insurance and life assurance with loads of flexible benefits including dental insurance, gym flex and shopping discounts.

About you

Good knowledge of export regulations (US EAR and/or UK/EU) and/or familiarity with import/export processes and requirements.

Comfortable with the use of Microsoft Office applications and in-house systems.

Capable self-starter who’s curious, willing to get involved, and willing to learn.

Ideally (but not essentially), practical working knowledge of US, UK and EU import and export control laws along with experience of import processes and non-UK import/export activities would be appreciated.

You have great attention to detail and are highly organised.

You are capable of working with high-volumes of data, able to prioritise tasks by urgency.

Due to the nature of our business, you must be able to obtain and maintain BPSS clearance.
