Summary

Solution Architect

The Enterprise Integrations department is searching for a solution architect to help us maintain our dynamic portfolio of solutions and applications. A successful candidate will be able to help us evolve our systems quickly and efficiently to support company objectives.

Solution Architects define system architectures, provide technical vision, and problem solving to the organization. They design, prototype, build, and integrate systems. They oversee solution delivery and are responsible for ensuring that what is delivered meets business and technical objectives, and adheres to best practices and company standards. While this is a technical leadership role, it is also a hands on role with the expectation that the architect can and will contribute to writing and reviewing code.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, development, delivery, and operational integrity of technical solutions
  • Develop and promote reusable architectural and coding patterns and technical standards
  • Provide technical supervision, guidance, expert advice, and mentoring to developers, and development teams

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ten or more years of experience as a programmer or computer scientist or demonstrable level of proficiency
  • Strong technical proficiency in one or more programming languages (C#, C++, Java, Python, etc.) C# is preferred.
  • Superior programming skills that relate to code development, maintenance, and implementation
  • Meticulous knowledge of integrations, development processes, and integration architectures
  • Ability to assess the business impact of different technical choices and technical debt
  • Ability to refactor complex systems to reduce tech debt and meet changing business needs
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding and experience working with agile development methodologies
  • Understanding and proficiency using modern DevOps practices including Git, containers, IaC, CaC, CICD, Kubernetes, and more.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to spot and fix errors in complex code
  • Ability to perform tasks independently
  • Strong written, diagramming, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong focus on quality and ownership
  • Experience with retail, manufacturing, and/or supply chain nice to have
