Leidos is seeking an Engineering Supervisor for 3rd Party Make Ready Electric Utilities. We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained.
This role will help to oversee a team of designers, engineers, drafters, and field technicians to accomplish designs for utility clients wishing to attach to existing electric utility power poles. This role requires previous experience with 3rd party Make Ready work. The design engineering supervisor may also support business development, proposal development, creation of marketing materials, and driving the implementation of automation.
Candidates located in the Northeastern US (Massachusetts or other neighboring/adjacent state) will be preferred, in order to best support our utility clients. However, we can consider candidates for remote work who have relevant and applicable experience if they are located elsewhere in the US.
As a Distribution Design Supervisor, You can expect to:
- Execution of existing 3rd Party Make Ready design programs for various clients
- Providing technical and metrics oversight, direction, and support for your team, including QAQC responsibilities
- Review engineering design packages with clients; Review and organize existing program work
- Team hiring and development
- Performing functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up
- Initiating continuous improvement to workflow processes that drive efficiency and high-quality standards in client design deliverables
What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):
- Bachelor's Degree & 4+ years of relevant experience; OR BA or AS degree & 6+ years of relevant experience; Relevant experience is considered working with third party make ready projects for electric utilities; Additional Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Previous experience in Pole Modeling
- Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman)
- Proven Ability to perform QAQC tasks for distribution design projects/work packages
- Demonstrated Experience with development of civil & electrical packages associated with complex cable/conduit in dense urban environments
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
- Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams

Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $119,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
