Job Summary

Installs, modifies, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains domestic refrigerators and freezers, soda and drinking fountains, ice cube machines, refrigerated air conditioners, heat pumps, and chillers

Principal Responsibilities:

Installs, modifies, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains large industrial refrigeration units (10-25 ton), industrial chilled water system, Ductless mini-splits, low temp 404A systems, older R-22 systems, and newer 410-A systems. Must have, or be able to get, proper certifications within 90 days of employment. Connects auxiliary and control mechanisms, piping, or tubing. Connects recording and gauging devices, charge refrigeration systems with gas, and test installation for leaks. Preforms start up procedures on newly installed compressors, fan motors, motor starters, etc. Provides training as required to assist less experienced personnel to improve their skills and safety awareness. Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned and may be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty as needed. Safely and efficiently accomplishes assignments with limited supervisory guidance, using accepted craft or trade techniques and good housekeeping practices. Follows Safety Data Sheet guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of Hazardous Materials. Reads Job Safety Analysis for identifying risks to health and safety during job specific tasks in the work place. Uphold company values (Safety, Diversity, Integrity and Success). Perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above. Maintain high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations; Responsible for reporting actual and potential safety and environmental concerns.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, using all standard forms or business communication.Must have good issue identification and resolution skills, as well as appropriate and professional customer service skills. Minimum Requirements

Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required. Trade or technical level education preferred but not required. Minimum of four (4) years prior experience preferred. Formal schooling, as an apprentice or one (1) year experience as a journeyman air conditioning mechanic is preferred but not required. Universal and 404-A EPA cards a plus. Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by SOC’s Master Training Plan. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license. Class A commerical drivers license desired. Must be able to obtain and maintain Introduction to Ammunition (Ammo 45). Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms..Must be able to perform work duties routinely, in a safe and effective manner, remaining alert and aware of potential work/safety hazards at all times, and especially alert, while performing safety sensitive duties.
