**Position** ATC SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR/TECH**Req Code** 3550-005**Location** KHASHM AL AN**Grade** V-45**Basic Functions** ATC System Administrator/Technician (SATech) will perform in the capacity of a highly specialized ATC networks and systems administrator. The Job is linked to maintaining the safe and efficient operating capacity of complex network of communications systems and airfield navigation systems for air traffic control. Installation, evaluation, maintaining and modifying systems, services and equipment are the responsibility of the SATech to include reading schematics, electrical diagrams and a general understanding of Air Traffic Control operations. This will involve working with RF communications systems for groundtoair, land mobile and microwave systems, weather equipment, network systems, and navigational aid equipment.**Major Duties and Responsibilities** A. Duties/Responsibilities:1. SATech must be capable of the installation, maintenance, modification and certification of communications systems such as: Harris Falcon III, Jotron Multimode Transceiver, communications link repeater, enhanced terminal voice switch, digital voice recorders, microwave communications/data links, satellite communication(SATCOM) systems and any networked ATC systems.2. SATech are required to inspect, evaluate, repair and maintain the following NAVAIDS/ATC Systems: ILS (Instrument Landing System), DVOR (Doppler Very High Frequency Omni Directional Range), DME (Distance Measuring Equipment), GCA (Groundcontrolled Approach) and AWOS (Automated Weather Observing System)and any Network designed for the monitoring of ATC Systems.3. Technicians must have the ability to utilize the following test equipment to perform maintenance duties: Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Transmission Test Set, Communications Analyzer, Toner/Probe, Cable Testing Instruments and Power Meter.B. Independence: Works within ICAO, GACA and MNG Air Traffic control rules, procedures, and regulations with minimal supervision.C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Has supervisory responsibility over lower grade technicians.**Minimum Qualifications** A. Education Level:1. High School Diploma or equivalent, with Formal Electronics and/or Network Training, Formal Training in RF Communications, Network Maintenance or ATC systems Maintenance.2. Graduate of DOD, US Army, US Air Force, FAA or equivalent course (Must provide Certification of completion).B. Experience:1. 4 years as a Network Technician, including 2 years in RF Communications, Network Maintenance or ATC Systems Maintenance.C. Specific knowledge, skills, ability:1. Technicians must have the ability to utilize the following test equipment to perform maintenance duties: Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Transmission Test Set, Communications Analyzer and Power Meter.2. Must possess Harris GCA-2000 certificate, vast knowledge of Linux operating system, and network system functions to include understanding of advanced FTP, SMNP, and multicast assignments.3. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.4. Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include medical, drug testing, background checks etc.5. Valid drivers license required.
