Mechanic - Turbine Generator
Job Summary
Amentum is looking for a Power Generator Turbine Mechanic to join our team in McLean, VA! You will inspect, repair, adjust, test, and replace parts as required on assigned turbine generator units. Must be a U.S. Citizen that is able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be responsible for all engine and generator maintenance related to the turbine generator units and assist with subsystems as assigned.
- Perform all service checks following manufacturer recommendations.
- Keep adequate and proper operational and maintenance logs.
- Identify all spare parts as needed for use and stock inventory.
- Responsible for all fire suppression systems and maintenance connected with the generators.
- Interface with outside service contractors used for specialty work on the turbine generator units.
- Responsible for receiving fuel deliveries and tank records.
- Direct maintenance personnel as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
- Perform other job related work as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years turbine engine experience.
- High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.
- Capable of trouble shooting using prints, diagrams, and specifications
- Possess a strong background in gas turbine engines.
- A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years experience with generator systems.
- Ability to write and comprehend written and oral instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
