Electric Door Mechanic
The Electric Door Mechanic performs routine preventative scheduled maintenance, and emergency repairs of the secure conference facilities installed at US Embassy Beijing, assist with minor electrical installations, work under the supervision of the security engineering staff. Also, but not limited to, troubleshooting problems, utilizing basic test equipment and meters, providing detailed verbal/written report on problems, assisting with new electrical and electromechanical installations, using schematic and low voltage controls.
Qualifications:
- Incumbent must be 21 years of age or older, completed journeyman training in either the electrical or electromechanical trade.
- Must have five years documented experience as a journeyman in an appropriate trade
- Must know how to read electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings and be familiar with direct current motors
- Must be able to write clear reports and have a basic knowledge of computers.
- Must be able to perform physical labor and heavy lifting including equipment which may, upon occasion, include items up to 100 lbs. The work requires sufficient dexterity and mobility needed to perform electromechanical maintenance on heavy devices
- Must have a familiarity with basic hand tools and knowledge of and skill using basic electrical testing equipment such as a multi-meter
- Able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
