Job Summary

Employee will be part of the Deployment Pool and will be required to support deployments to various CONUS/OCONUS locations, as required. This position will require the member to be flexible in the support of assigned deployment/work schedules.

Employee will assemble, disassemble, renovate, transport, load, deactivate, modify, destroy, and handle munitions including missiles, precision, and gravity bombs. Work on the installation, configuration changes, modification, repair and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components. Perform maintenance modifications, destruction, and demilitarization of ammunition and explosive components. Operate computer hardware and software utilities and manual records in order to perform stock control and accounting procedures. Inspect bomb release systems and missile launchers to determine need for repair or destruction in support of Predator/Reaper Series RPA maintenance.

Additionally, employee may manage inspection, maintenance, and storage of munitions and support equipment. Focal point for weapons loading and armament systems and related matters. Primary authority to provide quality assurance, compliance, continuity, and standardization of munitions programs. May author and maintain weapons safety course, load certification and related products. Provide technical and managerial advice to senior leaders in matters of weapons management, inventory, and maintenance, loading, and armament systems. Plan, order, and ensure availability and serviceability of munitions to support emerging customer requirements.

USAF equivalent position is Munitions Technician Craftsman.

Position reports to the Supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced work in the installation, configuration changes, modification, repair and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components.
  • Perform advanced maintenance modification, destruction and demilitarization on ammunition and explosive components.
  • Operate computer hardware and software/utilities and manual records in order to perform stock control and accounting procedures.
  • Inspect bomb release systems and missile launchers to determine need for repair or destruction.
  • Supervise all Munitions related inspections, maintenance, and storage of munitions and support equipment.
  • Support quality assurance, compliance, continuity, and standardization of munitions programs.
  • Provide technical inputs to management in matters of weapons management, inventory, maintenance, loading, and armament systems.
  • Maintain weapons certification and currency.
  • Supervise the availability and serviceability of munitions to support and meet customer requirements.
  • Work in the installation, configuration changes, modification, repair and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components.

  • Focal point for all weapons loading and armament systems and related matters.
  • Execute quality assurance, compliance, continuity, and standardization of munitions programs.
  • Provide technical and managerial advice to senior leaders in matters of weapons management, inventory, maintenance, loading, and armament systems.
  • Assist with managing weapons load certification program.
  • Monitor munitions individuals for certification and currency.
  • Plan, order and ensure availability and serviceability of munitions to support and meet customer requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma, or have completed relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum
  • Minimum of five years’ experience actual Aircraft Munitions/Weapons maintenance experience required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience on MQ-9 aircraft, as a Munitions/Weapons Technician
  • Completed USAF Munitions/Weapons Tech School or DoD equivalent
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft maintenance
  • Must be able to inspect and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment
  • Must achieve a passing grade in all required courses/certifications for continued employment, as needed

  • Employee must meet all OCONUS deployment criteria, to include pre-deployment medical screening, as a condition of employment
  • Must be able to lift, carry and/or wear Military Issued Equipment in excess of 50 pounds for extended periods
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship upon hire
  • Must submit updated SF-86 within 30 days of hire start date
  • Must have current DoD Secret Security Clearance and be able to maintain a DoD security clearance commensurate with the assigned duties during employment
  • Must have current/active State Issued Driver’s License
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid flight-line Government Driver’s License
  • Must have valid U.S. Passport with a minimum of one year remaining with at least two facing pairs (four total) of blank Visa pages
  • Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated with booster. Accommodations may be available under limited circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant career field
  • RPA Operations & Deployment experience
  • Prior experience as a Defense Contractor
  • Munitions/Weapons experience within the last 10 years
  • Highly desired to have a U.S. Passport valid for an additional two years with at least two facing pairs (four total) of blank Visa pages
