Force Protection Equipment Technician

Purpose and Scope:

Force Protection Equipment Technician shall enable the management, oversight, sustainment of the full range of United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) Global Prepositioned Materiel Services (GPMS) force protection equipment. The range of service and support include storage, maintenance, out load, reconstitution, exercise, and contingency logistics support. In addition, responsibilities include maintenance and repair (M&R), Government Furnished Property (GFP), and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). The range of services is to ensure success, enable training exercises, theater contingencies, wartime operations, and other specified priorities. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, advise, and travel within the AOR when required in the performance of this function.
  • Provide oversight for contract storage sites in the USAFE AOR.
  • Facilitate data collection to support readiness reporting.
  • Maintain work environments that are safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, and ensure working.
    facilities and areas present a professional atmosphere.
  • Ensure proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment tools, information, and Data).
  • Ensure compliance with contract references which include but not limited to AFPD 25-1; AFI 25-101; AFI 10-401; AFI 10-403; AFI 10-404; AFI 23-101; AFMAN 23-122; AFH 23-123 Vol 1 & Vol 2; DODD 3110.6.
  • Required to attend partnering meetings and function as an integral team member of the U.S.
    Air Force and other organizations as well as cooperate and share pertinent information with applicable parties for program success.
  • Ensure all contractual performance objectives are met.
  • Support and enable success of large, diverse, international, and multi-skilled workforce.
  • Ensure required contractual submittals are provided to the government.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 6 years' military security forces experience.
  • (SF) S4 Logistics maintenance experience required.
  • Experience in contingency environments as well as knowledge & experience working with government contracts preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) and Up-Armored High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of deployable/mobile (SF) weapon systems, requirements and associated technology and equipment.
  • Project management, pro-active, well organized, results-oriented, and team player with decision-making ability.
  • Use computers & related software such as Microsoft Office and other common products used in office environments.
  • Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with documented supervisory experience
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance, required.

Required Baseline Education:

  • A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR an associate degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR 11 years of recent specialized experience.

Contract Requirements in accordance with Appendix J:

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance
  • Trained to operate, inspect and maintain RQ-11B Raven and Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Unmanned Aerial Systems Manager (SUASMAN) web application and database, and SUAS associated equipment.
  • Trained to operate, inspect, and maintain adaptive networking, wideband communications equipment, SF individual professional gear/equipment, Common Remote Weapon Stations (CROWS), counter improvised explosive device electronic warfare systems, and security sensor systems.
  • 6 years' military security forces experience
  • Working knowledge of Up-Armored High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV) and Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV).
  • Working knowledge of Security Forces (SF) weapon systems, requirements and associated technology and equipment

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Light to moderate lifting as required carried out in an office environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
