Surface Radar Systems Technician

We have an immediate opening for a Surface Radar Technician to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme at Naval Station San Diego, CA. This is a full-time position and will allow you to continue providing hands-on support to some of the most sophisticated equipment the navy has.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide Technical Support in the troubleshooting and recommendations for repair of the AN/SPQ-9B Radar System Suite
Maintaining and troubleshooting the SPQ-9B Radar System
Troubleshooting electronic modules and isolating failures to the Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU)
Provide recommendations to ship's force to assist them in the repair of their equipment
Provide On-The-Job-Training (OJT) to ship's force during maintenance efforts
Provide, review, and complete all required reporting upon the completion of tasks assigned
Performing field replacement of components to the AN/SPQ-9B System
Support system operability and mission area assessments
Minimum Requirements:
Specialized Experience: Seven (7) years of full-time engineering experience onboard surface ship radar systems in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, or repair of AN/SPQ-9B (NEC desired)
Experience in evaluating material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective actions
Capable of up to 25% travel to support installations and fleet technical assistance visits
General Experience: Seven (7) years of full-time technical experience in the design, installation, test, or repair of electronics systems and equipment
Must have an active secret US government clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with shipboard safety procedures including electrical tag-outs, working aloft procedures, hazardous material handling and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
