HVAC/R Technician

Hiring hourly range: $33 - 39/hr (hourly/salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

You will work with other technicians and professionals engaged in a variety of activities in the support of a pharmaceutical facility to ensure established company goals are realized while maintaining client relations that will enhance future business.
As the HVAC/R Maintenance Technician, your daily duties for this role will include:
Providing an intermediate level of expertise in performing preventive and corrective maintenance to a wide variety of industrial or commercial facility HVAC equipment.
Identifying and correcting any safety-related issues and performing independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
Operating, maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, and other mechanical equipment as needed.
Utilizing the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment.
Utilizing strong mechanical and electrical skills in order to complete assignments.
Performing preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled from a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Responding and providing service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
Performing the functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required.
Operating various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Maintaining a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment.
Performing other duties as assigned by Management or Lead.
As the HVAC/R Technician, you will be expected to:

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Six years of experience as an HVAC/R maintenance technician in industrial and/or commercial environments or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Active Connecticut OE2, S2, or D2 license or the ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Strong mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and air-conditioning skills are required, as well as the ability to work safely with 3-phase power up to and including 480V.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical circuits ranging from 24V AC/DC and up.
Ability to obtain site specific security access including all applicable background checks.
Ability to work overtime, holidays, various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.

Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
Ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
Ability to travel to other Amentum, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
Ability to walk extensively throughout diverse work environments as required by business demand.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.

Preferred Requirements
Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment.
Experience utilizing a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Visio.
