Amentum is seeking a Licensed Architect in Annapolis Junction, Maryland for a permanent position.


You will be a motivated person who can perform architectural and interior design on small on a mid-size, fast track design-build project for Federal clients. You have the ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities, with the ability to work both independently with autonomy and as part of a larger design team. You will have experience working under the supervision of the lead Architect and as a discipline project lead, coordinating closely with architectural and structural colleagues as well as engineers. Your experience includes design, drafting, specifications, proposals and procurement. You have the ability to work closely with clients, end users and other stakeholders in a project and you can establish respectful, productive working relationships with all involved parties.


You will perform basic architectural calculations; preparing specifications, reports and related data tables; as well as prepare, review and approve drawings as needed. You'll also be a liaison with the design and drafting groups.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, Architects maintain project coordination with all other disciplines on an assigned project.
- Provides design and CAD drafting, specification writing and design narrative writing for design-bid-build and design-build projects of varying sizes.
- Provides Supervising Architect status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems.
- Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities.
- Assures quality, quantity, and completeness of the architectural work required.
- Plans and schedules architectural efforts associated with assigned projects.
- Maintains timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports regarding assigned activities.
- Maintains proper architectural files and records.
- Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
- May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
- Provides construction administration as required.
- Performs other architectural-related work as required.

- Maintains timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports regarding assigned activities.
- Maintains proper files and records.
- Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
- May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
- Performs other work, including architectural surveys as required.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university
- 10-15 years of architectural experience, preferably with Federal clients.
- Must possess an Architectural license in Maryland or another United States jurisdiction.
- AutoCAD experience
- Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen

- Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS

- Ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI Clearance with Poly required

Preferred Qualifications

- Good oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications
- Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work
- Existing TS/SCI Security Clearance preferred
