Supervising Architect I

Amentum is actively seeking an Supervising Architect I in the Englewood, CO office.

This role will operate under the guidance of the Project Architectural Manager or the Engineering Manager. The Supervising Architect is responsible for managing the architectural discipline to meet customer and project requirements regarding scope, scheduling and budgets. Coordination of the architectural discipline with other disciplines. Maintaining records, files and other documents pertaining to discipline. Provides liaison between Architects, Intern Architects and Project Architectural Manager and Project Manager and Chief Architect with respect to project scope, budget, and scheduling and overall architectural, engineering and design requirements. Works closely with Chief Architect and Project Architectural or Engineering Manager on evaluations and promotions and the overall technical improvement of the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Project Architectural or Engineering Manager in identifying the architectural documents that must comply with regulatory/licensing requirements.

  • Assumes in charge responsibility for architectural documents to comply with applicable state laws/regulations.

  • Obtains from the Project Architectural or Engineering Manager the project schedule and scope of work for discipline and prepares a detailed scope of work for the architectural effort involved in discipline.

  • Establishes schedules and budgets to meet the project requirements and obtains approval from the Project Architectural or Engineering Manager and Chief Architect.

  • Maintains technical coordination with the Chief Architect, under the guidance of the Project Architectural or Engineering Manager, to assure adherence to industry codes, regulatory requirements and sound architectural and engineering practice.

  • Maintains coordination with the Chief Architect, under the guidance of the Project Architectural or Engineering Manager, regarding discipline personnel and performance evaluations.

  • Coordinates discipline's architectural activities with those of other disciplines on the project.

  • Maintains architectural and engineering files and records.

  • Directs the preparation of periodic reports and forecasts on the status of discipline and submits to the Project Architectural or Engineering Manager.

  • Schedules, directs, and documents discipline architectural meetings between Project Management, customer, vendors and other engineering groups.

  • Develops the technical and managerial capabilities of subordinates.

  • Complies with state requirements for continuing education, maintains and obtains licenses as requested by his/her Chief Architect.

  • May be responsible for managing mid-size discipline group.

  • Performs other architectural/engineering-related work as required.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of work, must be a US Citizen

  • Bachelor of science or arts degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university or demonstrated equivalent education.

  • Minimum of 10+ years of architectural experience with a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.

  • Must be a Registered Architect in a home state.

  • Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

  • Position may require travel.

  • In depth knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DOE/DOD project design experience.

  • Independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.

  • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.

  • Assist in training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

  • Review and approve conceptua designs.

  • Working knowledge of model interference detection and resolution.

  • Assist in development of new architectural methods and techniques.

  • Building designs for industrial facilities.

  • Condition assessment and Building and Fire Protection Code compliance.

  • Visualization, animation, and multimedia design and techniques.

Compensation & Benefits:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $44 hourly - $67 hourly (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
