Job Summary

Primary purpose or role of this position: Provides support to the US DOE Office of Legacy Management IT Projects Team. The IT Projects System Analyst will leverage their knowledge and experience to participate on teams to develop key new IT capabilities or to modernize and enhance existing capabilities, artifacts, and processes.

Primary responsibilities and essential functions of this position:

Support project lifecycle of defining the scope, timeline and budget for a new project and then designing, implementing and testing the solution.

Participate in identifying solutions and opportunities for systems improvement.

Perform technical research and testing; provide documentation of technical problems and resolutions, as required.

Collaborate to ensure a robust and repeatable solution.

Document architecture and design of the implemented solution.

Identify technical problems, troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software issues, and engineering technical solutions and recommend next steps. Create and present project artifacts.

Prepare and present technical overviews, and analysis.

Create/update technical documentation and user manuals.

Describe work experience required to perform job:

Experience working on teams to design solutions and integrate systems.

Experience migrating legacy systems to newer technologies.

Demonstrated on-the-job experience coordinating with other team members and ensuring problem solution, appropriate risk reduction, and user satisfaction.

Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Meets goals and deadlines, delivery dates.

Well-developed skills in troubleshooting and able to solve complex software issues.

Experience with configuration management tools.

Ability to see the big picture, viewing the total systems perspective with a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies and requirements of hardware and software components.

Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Eagerness to learn new tools.

Ability to coordinate across remote team members, management, and customers

Technical knowledge that is required to perform position:

Working knowledge of a project lifecycle, configuration management, IT Governance, and risk management frameworks

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Visio©, Word©, Excel©, PowerPoint

Experience in several of the following areas is highly desired: VMware, Windows Server, PKI, Linux, DHCP, Axway DVE,

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or in a related discipline and 5 years of experience or an Associate's degree in Computer Scientce or in a related discipline and 9 years of experience
