Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Programmer/Analyst 2 at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Dahlgren, VA.

Are you a self-motivated individual that, with solid instruction and guidance, can run with a few tasks, develop software code using C/C++, Java, Microsoft Visual Studio, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and report progress every few days? Be our next eager developer seeking to learn, communicate, ask questions, research and find answers to design solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, write, test, deploy and support software code as assigned.

2. Work closely with engineers, managers, and critical stakeholders to understand system and usability requirements.

3. Perform requirements assessments and requirements decomposition.

4. Provide software and code reviews.

5. Code to model system behavior through functional flows and functional descriptions.

6. Provide Software Engineering technical support.

Minimum Requirements

- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline

- Three (3) years software development.

- Due to the nature of the work, must be a U.S. citizen

- Must have an active Secret security clearance


Preferred Qualifications

- Experience related to DoD projects or customers

- Understanding of technical aspects required to develop large complex software intensive systems

- Five (5) years of experience in software engineering applied to program development, modeling, and/or simulation

- Two (2) years of experience with US Navy or Joint systems

- Experience with C/C++, Java, Microsoft Visual Studio, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, or configuration control software.
