Deloitte's Policy and Government Relations (PGR) group is currently looking to add an Analyst to the team in Washington, DC. This role will begin on a remote work basis and eventually be based out of its Washington, DC office.

Policy and Government Relations Core Functions:

  • Protect Deloitte's business interests and expand growth opportunities through advocacy, education, and engagement at the federal and state levels
  • Establish Deloitte as a trusted thought leader by promoting the Firm's eminence with government stakeholders and policy influencers at the federal and state levels
  • Support internal and external clients by monitoring, analyzing, and providing insights into the political, legislative, and public policy landscapes
  • Identify and analyze policy trends to help inform business decisions, develop policy positions, and advance the Firm's business objectives and initiatives

Role Description:
  • Assist with tracking, analyzing and reporting on policy, legislative, regulatory, and political developments relevant to the Firm and our State, Local, and Higher Ed clients
  • Assist in developing and updating presentation materials, including PowerPoint documents
  • Assist with managing team's communication plan, including drafting communications, monitoring team's mailbox and maintaining schedules and contact lists
  • Provide general project management support to the team, including maintaining communication calendars, maintaining databases, and managing logistics related to team meetings
  • Assist with preparation of briefing materials for senior leaders
  • Attend meetings and summarize key information and discussion points

  • 2+ years of related professional experience
  • Interest in state government
  • Experience with and/or understanding of the legislative, regulatory, policymaking, and political processes
  • Ability to research policy and political issues and synthesize and summarize the information
  • Ability to synthesize data and develop high-quality, innovative, and impactful deliverables
  • Excellent writing skills; ability to summarize and communicate topics in a nonpartisan and objective manner
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong PowerPoint presentation development skills
  • Strong Excel skills; Tableau skills a plus
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks for different stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to self-direct work
  • Ability to demonstrate discretion with sensitive content and topics
  • Professional demeanor and presence
  • Travel of up to 10% (While 10% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
