Job Summary

Typical Responsibilities Include:

Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

May be required to work overtime or varying hours to include shift work.

Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.

Work in close proximity to and or in an ammunition/chemical demilitarization facility.

Maintenance, sampling, treatment, and auditing of water quality and distribution of the Hawthorne Army Depot water system. Ensures compliance with all government, DOD, state, and federal requirements.

Test and chemically treat all water and waste water, including but not limited adding chemicals such as chlorine , sodium hydrochloride, aluminum sulfate, aluminum chloride and polymers.

Inspects assigned equipment, maintains appropriate records, collects/processes samples, operates water treatment equipment, cleans equipment and ensures proper housekeeping.

Maintains water treatment plants and ensures clean efficient operating condition. Ensures condition of potable water, used for drinking, meets Safe Drinking Water Standards. Checks chlorinators and chemical feed systems for working condition and maintains stock of consumable supplies. Performs building surveys to determine back-flow requirements for each facility

Maintains/repairs water distribution system, portable water treatment plants, and wastewater/industrial water treatment plants and maintain water levels in reservoirs and tanks. Ensures adequate pressure to maintain supply to depot operations.


Minimum Requirements

Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access

Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment

Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement

Minimum of one (1) year direct or related facilities maintenance experience .

Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required per NAC 445A.6267 and the Master Training Plan.Basic Qualifications: Minimum High school diploma or equivalent, required.

Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System

SAFETY SENSITIVE

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13 and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26
