The typical work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm; hours may vary based on business demand.

Hiring hourly range: $28-32/hr (hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

You will work with other technicians and professionals engaged in a variety of activities in the support of a pharmaceutical facility to ensure established company goals are realized while maintaining client relations that will enhance future business.

As the Industrial Electrician, your daily duties for this role will include:

  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting all facility equipment and systems, including:

  • Normal and emergency power systems;

  • Buss power distribution systems, duct plugs, conduit, and wiring;

  • Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems; and

  • Switch gears, motors, disconnects and breakers, AC and variable frequency drives, low voltage controls, PLCs, cranes and hoists, lighting systems, building automation systems, and motor control centers (up to 480V).

  • Maintaining, improving, and participating in developing control systems, programming ladder logic/PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens ControlLogix, PLC-5) and HMI. Working with Allen Bradley controls and instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, as well as primary voltages up to and including 480v.

  • Providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, servicing, and documenting the electrical and controls needs of equipment and systems related to HVAC units, motors, lighting systems, control circuits, VFDs, PLCs, cranes, and hoists.

  • Utilizing the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment.

  • Performing preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems and equipment, instruments, control systems, drives, and lighting systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Performing functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE.

  • Complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing pharmaceutical production equipment and laboratory equipment instrumentation (reactors, freezers, incubators, and more).

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  • Five years of experience as an industrial maintenance electrician or demonstrated equivalent combination of education (trade school) and experience.

  • Ability to obtain site specific security access including all applicable background checks.

  • Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and successfully complete a fit test for each type of respirator needed for the position or for an approved alternate respirator that provides equal or better protection from identified hazards.

  • Ability to work overtime when required, including holidays and weekends.

  • Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

    This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Some physical/special requirements include:

  • Regularly lift to 50 lbs

  • Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding

  • Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement.

  • Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions

  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Special Requirements: Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Industrial Electrical or a related skilled trade program.

  • Experience in troubleshooting 4-20mA circuits and NFPA-70E Training.

  • Experience with conduit installation.

  • Experience calculating and determining circuit load.

  • Experience and understanding with current electrical codes.

  • Strong knowledge of NEC, sizing wire, transformers, and calculating conduit fill.

  • Experience troubleshooting and replacing 3 phase motors up 60hp.

  • Experience with a CMMS or Maintenance Management System (i.e. Maximo, MP2, etc.)

  • Experience in calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of Process Instrumentation on equipment such as Autoclaves and Glassware Washers.

  • Experience in calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of Laboratory equipment including Incubators, Freezers, Refrigerators, Centrifuges, Ovens, and/or Shakers.

  • Experience in calibration and repair on instrument transmitters including Pressure, Pressure Differential, Vacuum, Temperature, RH, CO2, Speed, Flow, and Level.
