Job Summary

Amentum is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to support an IT Managed Services program for a major national laboratory in Livermore, California. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems.

You will be a part of a team has a vision to deliver secure next generation technical information solutions for the nation's nuclear deterrence lifecycle. You will provide connected, innovative, digital solutions for the success of the science, engineering, and production areas.

As a member of the team, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with software developers to deploy and operate our systems.
  • Help automate and streamline operations and processes.
  • Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test and production environments.
  • Have strong background in Linux/Unix Administration, experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible or an equivalent.
  • Have the ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services and a working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl, and/or Ruby).
  • Have knowledge and understanding of best practices and IT operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required; must not possess dual citizenship with any other country other than the United States.
  • Must have a Bachelor's and 5 years of experience OR an Associates Degree and 9 years of experience OR High School Diploma / GED and 13 years of experience.
  • Must possess a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q clearance and maintain it for the life of the contract.
  • At least 4-5 years of DevOps Experience.
  • At least 4-5 years of development experience with Java.
  • Strong collaboration and teaming skills.
  • Interest in working on an Agile team.
  • Familiar with version control tools such as Git and Subversion.
  • Experience troubleshooting C++, Java Applications.
  • Experience with automated testing.
