Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Network Engineer - Mid-Level for our customer.

You are dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering consistent professional network operational support to senior leadership. With your innovative, advanced network troubleshooting and resolution experience, you will be a perfect fit for this role. You also have excellent communication skills, particularly when speaking to customers and senior management level staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a highly available, reliable, scalable and secure infrastructure network to DOT.
  • Facilitate integration and operation of DOT cybersecurity shared services into the DOT network.
  • Plan, test, implement, and perform post-implementation monitoring of network changes directed by the DOT CISO or his designees.
  • Other network engineering and support responsibilities as may be expected or common with the ITSS service delivery description.
  • Document and maintain procedures that meet DOT regulations, policies, and contractor obligations.
  • Network design and diagram documentation:
    • Detailed circuit location information (e.g. circuit ID including LEC access ID, location, speed).
    • Detailed documentation showing all firewall policy, group, object, etc. information.
    • Detailed design documents for layer 3 and layer 2 devices, etc. information supporting the CDM program.
    • “As-built” documentation for all infrastructure devices (including firewalls) that are deployed in development, test, QA, production, or other technical environments.
  • Support deployment of Zero Trust network configuration to include deployment, endpoint data collection and evaluation, optimization, endpoint admission automation, and event reporting.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5 years of overall work experience required, 3 of which must be in managing data networks, cloud infrastructure, and possessing advanced skills and knowledge in routing, switching, and load balancing and firewall management
  • Due to the nature of work, must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
