Network Engineer

Amentum is seeking a Network Engineer in Andros Island, Bahamas to work as part of a close knit team, as well as independently, to accomplish a range of functions as you support AUTEC. As a member of the team you will:

• Evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, perform problem isolation and resolution, monitor, tune, set standards and maintain a complex range of network components and systems.
• Manage network performance to maintain high quality transmission service on various networks.
• Perform scope across a wide range of network facilities including some, but not all, physical media, protocol stacks, hubs, routers, switches, bridges, gateways and media converters.
• Participate in planning and coordination of network initiatives – maintenance, upgrades, or new networks.
• Utilize monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance and trace data and protocol activity.
• Begin to plan research, evaluate and recommend new network equipment and technologies.
• Devise solutions to moderately complex operational problems within the capacity and operation limitations of installed equipment.
• Prepare detailed documented requirements for selected activities (i.e., data management, configuration management, program management, etc.)
• Complies with hardware and software systems standards and procedures.
• Maintains network asset lists and diagrams.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
• Support periods of on call to resolve networking problems after hours.

Requirements:

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of professional experience in networks design or support.
• Must have current CompTIA Security+ certification. Must have valid Networking certification for one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.
• Ongoing employment requires keeping above certifications in force throughout the period of employment.
• Must have ability to read, interpret and apply instructions, publications, and safety rules.
• Valid passport and Driver’s license required.
• Must be able to reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
