Work you'll do

  • Design and translate the corporate mission into supply chain strategies to help our clients transform their supply chain capabilities
  • Drive competitiveness by reducing supply chain logistics complexities
  • Organize and deliver services on a cross-section of projects
  • Leverage deep subject matter knowledge on engagements
  • Contribute to the development and cultivation of business and vendor relationships
  • Serve as a "Subject Matter Expert", adding interpretive value to data presented or experienced insight into a functional process or issue
  • Display business judgment in anticipating client/project needs and developing alternative solutions
  • Identify opportunities for other Deloitte service offerings that can address client needs
  • Responsible for managing solutions, delegating resources, and helping to ensure quality assurance principles are met across projects and deliverables
  • Supervises the work of team members and supports delivery teams and staff
  • Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities providing input and guidance into the staffing process
  • Contribute to business development initiatives to grow the Supply Chain team and the Federal practice
  • Manage resources on client projects
  • This role involves:
  • Providing power system studies, tools, technical assistance, and technology assessments to reliably and cost-effectively integrate diverse energy technologies, manage variability and accelerate clean energy transition
  • Technical norms, guidelines, standards, and impacts of integrating diverse power system technologies including renewable energy resources, battery energy storage systems, microgrids, and distributed generation
  • Distributed generation to enable renewable energy deployment and technical studies to increase distributed energy resources, variable renewable energy, and resiliency planning; technical analyses to evaluate cross-border power flows, renewable energy penetration and absorption capacity, and evaluate viability of domestic or cross-border transmission infrastructure; the complementarities of the electricity supply mixes with respect to power supply availability, reliability, and quality for serviced load centers
  • Potential impacts of cross-border projects on local and national grid stability (e.g., frequency and voltage control); regional power sector expansion planning and the benefits of coordinated dispatch across a larger balancing area with higher renewable energy use; distributed generation's impact on electricity supply, grid management, and long-term planning; and digitalization and automation in power system operation and market development

• Bachelor's degree required

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role

• Professional Engineer certification

• Travel up to (25)% (While 25% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)

  • Technical expertise in distribution automation; renewable energy integration, including ramp rates and forecasting, load dispatch; grid code assessment; transmission and distribution planning and upgrades, including high voltage interconnections and assessments of technical losses; battery storage integration; power quality and solution architecture, including voltage and frequency optimization and load firming
  • Prior professional services or federal consulting experience
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree
  • Experience mentoring and coaching others
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Experience managing senior-level client relationships
  • Experience presenting to clients or other decision makers to present and sell ideas to various audiences (technical and non-technical)
  • Pre-sales, proposal, and RFP experience
