Provide construction oversight for new construction and renovation of facilities in support of Vinnell Arabia. Reviewing engineering designs for concrete and/or steel structures, earthwork, and road designs which are in compliance with UBC, and local codes. Coordinate with end users to determine requirements. Conduct site walk-through for proposed construction projects.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Designing new construction of Vinnell facilities working from a user definition of requirements and finishing with a completed construction package. Develop engineering cost estimates for Vinnell new construction and/or renovation projects to include material, labor, and equipment cost figures. Develop engineering Rough Order of Magnitude (ROMs) for various projects as directed by Engineering Services Branch Manager. Assist the ESB Manager in the planning and executing renovation and minor construction projects in support of Vinnell Arabia. Organize and supervise augmented and organic labor for such projects. Developing engineering design packages (drawings and specifications) in support of Vinnell Arabia. Packages shall comply with UBC, and Local codes. Evaluating technical submittals on materials to be used in construction or renovation projects. Providing quality control oversight of in-process Vinnell construction and renovation projects. Ensures the application of Western and local health and safety standards in the performance of all duties. Prepares various technical and administrative reports. Performs other mission-related tasks as required and as directed. Evaluating shop drawings submittals for detailed design. Developing and recommending corrective action on deviations when identified. Developing as built drawings for Vinnell customers. Developing cost estimates for Vinnell customers. Implement best business practices. Act as the Manager of Engineering Services Branch in the Absence of the Engineering Services Branch Manager. Acts under the general supervision of Manager, Engineering Services Branch.
Educational Level: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering from an accredited local/western university.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years experiences in construction design and execution.
Specific knowledge, skills, ability, and requirements: Ability to use applicable U.S. and Saudi Codes, construction drawings and specifications. Knowledge of FAR and other manual relating to construction contracts. Ability to observe work-in-progress, recommend changes/corrections and document same in the form of performance reports. Ability to communicate fluently in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to develop construction drawings, to prepare an RFP, develop engineering cost estimates for labor and materials and draft modifications to Contracts for approval and signature by the ES Manager.
