Navigation Electronics Technician
Amentum is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Navigation Electronics Technician with significant experience with U.S. Navy Submarine navigation systems to support the Submarine Technical Support Center (STSC) at Naval Submarine Base Groton (NSB Groton) in Groton, CT.
The employee’s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:
Serve as authority for direct fleet technical support on submarine navigation, ship’s control, and atmosphere monitoring equipment.
Have a broad knowledge of electronic principles, practices, and theories.
Apply knowledge, theory, and methodology in the analysis and resolution of problems encountered in trouble shooting assignments.
Support assessments, inspections, tests, and ship checks as required.
Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least eight (8) years of general U.S. Navy submarine experience, including at least three (3) years of demonstrated, specialized experience with submarine navigation, ship’s control, and atmosphere monitoring equipment.
Top Secret clearance
Fiber Optic experience, including Certified Fiber Optic in CORE, Single Ferrule, Multi Terminus, Fusion Splicing, Optical Testing, and Quality Assurance.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience/comfort interacting with senior/executive-level active-duty military and civilian Government employees.

Effective organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
Proficient with common productivity software including Microsoft Office and Project, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
Must have familiarity and experience with the following hardware and systems:
Ballast Control Panel (BCP)
Ships Control Panel (SCP)
Central Atmosphere Monitoring System (CAMS)
Radar BPS-15
Radar BPS-16
Voyage Monitoring System (VMS)
Fly-By-Wire Requirements and Certifications
Ships Control System (SCS)
Integrated Communications System (ICS)
Electronic Mooring Capstan (EMC)
