Purpose and Scope

PSP is seeking Engineering Resource Manager to join our Base Operations and Spaceport Services (BOSS) team, located at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The Resource Manager will work closely with Engineers and Engineering Management to facilitate noteworthy schedule performance, and cost performance, for a variety of baseline and task order efforts. Engineering resources include Design Engineers, System Engineers, Project Managers, and Construction Inspectors, supporting various projects and tasks at the Kennedy Space Center.

Job Duties and Essential Responsibilities

Track, Monitor, and facilitate improvements in Schedule and Cost performance for the Engineering department. Establish and update monthly metrics to measure Schedule and Cost performance for the Engineering department. Assess hours required for new efforts vs current Resources and Workload, to provide input on realistic schedule commitments. Ensure that all Engineers are making weekly entries into the Engineering Open Work Report (EOWR) for each assigned task line for their projects. The entries include the Estimated Remaining Engineering Hours and the Estimated Completion Date (ECD), as well as any significant comments. Also ensure that the Engineers are coordinating with other assigned Engineers regarding their ECDs. Ensure the all Engineers are consistently making task line status updates, or Log Note updates, in Maximo. Support resource management for all ENG tasks and champion timely completion of tasks. Review project assignments with the applicable Engineers, to determine if there is any workload imbalance and/or conflicting priorities, and adjust as required. Ensure coordination among ENG resources to provide an integrated plan, that maximizes attainment of schedule, and weighs applicable priorities. Be responsive to customers regarding project status. Work closely with PMs and Engineers to provide updated status, what if schedule impacts, et al Ensure compliance with Company and Division policies, procedures, and objectives. Attend/contribute to meetings related to overall Branch updates Conduct periodic one-on-one meetings with staff to better understand workload issues, and clarify priorities Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, and five (5) years of job-related experience or equivalent. Strong business data analytics background is required. Capable of using and developing spreadsheets, word processing and standard Microsoft Office software to include Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Visio. Strong communication and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

A demonstrable knowledge of Maximo, and Electronic Work Request System (EWRS) and their associated table structure is preferred. Experience using Power BI preferred May require some limited travel. May require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Other Requirements:

All viable candidates must be able to obtain unescorted base access to the Kennedy Space Center.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards; occasional lifting to 20 pounds; constant sitting with use of computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines. Field work will consist primarily of site walk downs in support of design projects and system trouble shooting Site hazard training and Personal Protective Equipment are provided.
