Electronic Warfare Engineering Technician
Amentum is seeking an Electronic Warfare Engineering technician to join our Portsmouth, VA team. This position will be seated at the St. Juliens Creek Annex US Naval Support facility in Portsmouth, VA for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, and fabrication tasks.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Install, monitor, and service Periscope Imaging, BLQ 10, ESM and BPS Radar equipment and systems at Company and client sites.
Assist with test and evaluation, checkout, certification tasks. Perform validations/ verifications of various electronic systems.
Review change proposals for equipment impacts.
Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
Establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
Provide technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirements.
Provide weekly/monthly CWITT status report input for relevant task orders in a timely manner.
Complete assigned action items and provides input to data calls, tasking, funding, cost estimates, etc., for I&EW SME support in a timely manner.
Ensure a professional, proactive, and customer-oriented approach to I&EW SME support.
Plan, schedule, coordinate, execute, monitor, track and report requirements, resources, tasks, milestones, products, and services required for CWITT support in a programmatic, process-oriented, organized manner.
Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
Minimum Requirements
HS Diploma and Vocational/technical training beyond high school school and at least 10 years of job-related experience or equivalent
Active Secret US government clearance
Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of C5I and/or NC3 systems/equipment
Experience in the maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines
Experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings
Excellent communications and analytical skills
Must be able to travel up to 60%
Preferred Qualifications
Possess knowledge across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
