The Amentum Environmental Remediation Services (ERS) Group is seeking an enthusiastic environmental technician to be based out of our Pittsburgh, PA Office.
The position will support environmental sampling and reporting efforts for projects for both private and government sector clients. The successful candidate must be able to write and convey thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner. We seek a technically proficient individual with the ability to organize data in a clear fashion using basic tools (spreadsheets, graphs) and the desire to learn and apply new tools, models, and methods. An associated or bachelor degree is preferred, though not required. Must be able to follow instructions and work productively in both individual and team settings. .
Primary Job Activities
Reviews plans and executes environmental sampling programs.
Applies standardized field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples of soil, groundwater, soil gas, surface water, sediment, and potable water.
Takes notes, completes field forms, and performs data entry.
May assist with remedial system operation and maintenance activities.
Ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
Ability to walk on uneven ground and within industrial settings.
Ability to perform periodic lifting of up to 50-lbs.
Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
Driver license required.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Software is a plus. All workers must understand and follow project-specific safety protocols and will be expected to perform their duties in accordance with company policies & procedures.
OSHA 40-Hour Training is required but not mandatory; the company will provide training if necessary. The selected individual must have the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and the position will include periodic overnight travel.
High school graduate or demonstrated equivalent. Experience: This is an entry-level position with no previous work experience.
