Environmental/Ground Water Specialist
Amentum is seeking a Environmental/Ground Water Specialist position at the DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) in Morgantown, WV. This will involve working closely with federal and contract; researchers, site technicians, engineers, and other ES&H professionals. The candidate must be energetic with good interpersonal and team building skills and be able to function independently with moderate supervision.
The following is a list required functions for this position.
·Generate groundwater monitoring results reports from samples collected that includes the development of GIS based maps of groundwater elevation and chemical contaminant contour maps, trending charts, laboratory data validation, and interpretation of results.
·Knowledge of groundwater monitoring wells installation, maintenance, and abandonment per regulatory and industry standards.
·Update and maintain various EXCEL based groundwater data monitoring databases.
·Update and maintain a Groundwater Protection Plan and a Storm-water Pollution Prevention Plan.
·Provide support in soil sampling investigations including sampling and generation of the monitoring results report.
·Knowledge of EPA and state groundwater and soil clean-up standards.
·Provide technical support for various groundwater, soil, and storm water issues.
·Review Directives, Policies, Procedures, Manuals, Operating Plans, etc. for accuracy and comment as necessary.
Bachelors degree in Geology, Environmental or other ES&H-related field, or Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or other sciences. 7 years of position related experience. ES&H-related experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
