AMENTUM is currently searching for an Operations Control Specialist to work on our AUTEC Andros Island, Bahamas site. The Operations Control Specialist is responsible to coordinate the logistics of marine and air traffic arriving/departing or conducting activities on the AUTEC range. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and operate specified AUTEC radio frequencies and circuits utilizing the NATO phonetic alphabet and military radio communication protocols.

  • Provide range expertise to the Program Manager and Program Engineer on duty during range events.

  • Be trained and qualified in accordance with work-based learning and perform all duties and responsibilities listed in the ACC Operations Manual.

  • Comply with directives and guidance of the AUTEC Range Safety Manual, AUTEC Range Capabilities, AUTEC Vessel Particulars, Contractor Policy & Procedures, NUWC Operating Control Directives, and other guidance/directives/regulations as applicable.

  • Interact with and provide quality customer service to Range Users, US and foreign navies, and government and contractor personnel; promptly escalate operational, personnel, or customer conflicts or concerns to the Lead Operations Control Specialist and/or Test Operations Manager.

  • Conduct administrative tasks as required including maintaining a watch log of all significant events.

  • Check email traffic regularly for communications pertinent to the conduct of operational testing at AUTEC.

  • Ensure organization and cleanliness of ACC.

  • Perform additional related duties as directed by the Test Operations manager.

  • Flexible work schedule; could require both day and night shifts on a rotating basis up to 12-hour shifts.

  • May be required to work extended hours for test support or as back-up to co-worker on vacation or emergency leave.

  • Accountable to the Test Operations Manager on the AUTEC project.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree, post-graduate vocational/technical certificate involving customer service, or Armed Forces Service School certification. Experience may be used in lieu of degree.

  • Working knowledge of military radio communication systems.

  • Use of Microsoft Outlook email and associated tools is imperative.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English required.

  • Capacity to manage close vision work on computer screens/monitors.

  • Must be able to walk up/down a one flight stairwell.

  • Work independently and as a part of a team with contractor, Range User and NUWC personnel.

  • Aptitude for tactful interaction with a wide variety of military and civilian personnel of various nationalities.

  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure; remain flexible and professional coping with changes in a real-time environment.

  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.

  • A valid US Passport and Driver’s License is required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Former military with a working knowledge of military protocol and/or three years related experience working in a test and range operations environment preferred.

  • Knowledge of AUTEC capabilities beneficial.

  • Working knowledge of US Navy vessels performance characteristics a plus.
