Database/Maximo Administrator
Job Summary
Support IBM Maximo System administration and Maximo Integration Framework in an Oracle database environment. Maintain Oracle database objects and perform database capacity-planning, configuration, some performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery. Provides Microsoft SQL Server system and database administration operating in an N-tier client/server application environment. Will serve as Primary Maximo Systems Administrator. Participate in Information Assurance compliancy procedures and controls for application software and systems.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
• Maximo Asset Management System administration and configuration; workflow development and administration along with a major role in end-user support.
• Script automation for Maximo Integration Framework (MIF).
• IBM WebSphere Server maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Manage database structures by monitoring and adjusting the internal structures (tuning) as required.
• Defines, establishes and performs regular backups of ALL designated databases.
• Involvement in planning, designing, creating, installing, customization, upgrades and maintenance of databases to meet government and contractor defined requirements.
• Perform upgrades of the database and software to new release levels.
• Documents databases and deployed applications.
• Provide training for new users or for new application products.
• Perform DoD Database Security technical implementation and documentation on Oracle, SQL Server databases and IBM WebSphere.
• Assist clients with Maximo user account related issues.
• Perform other duties as required including property custodian.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Environment:
• Primary work location is an Office Environment based at the State of Hawaii Port Allen Pier-shed with occasional time in port and at-sea on PMRF assigned boats.
• Occasional extended work hours and infrequent weekend/holiday activity.
• Can anticipate occasional calls after hours to coordinate emergent mission change requirements or in response to PMRF Emergency Action direction.
Physical Activities:
• Lifting, pushing and pulling: 10-25lbs.
• Walking or standing, crawling, kneeling or cramped, sitting, work requiring repeated or frequent stair climbing.
• Customer contact extended workday, field assignment & inclement weather.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
• High school graduate or equivalent + 5 years IT experience or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; Oracle cert or 3 years Maximo experience
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or similar discipline is required. Five years of directly related, IT experience may be substituted.
• Equivalent years of experience may be substituted in lieu of education
Experience:
• Oracle DBA certification or 3 years of Maximo Administration experience.
• Must be proficient in report writing, gathering and analyzing statistics, and using Microsoft .Office programs, such as Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point.
• Has the expertise to accurately determine if technology or device will support/satisfy new requirements.
• Positively enhance the analysis process and security posture of the networks, integrate into existing architecture and tool sets, and can be properly accredited and authorized for use.
• Possesses strong computer skills.
Certifications:
• DoD 8570/8140: IAT II
• Security Clearance: Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected must be a US Citizen in order to apply for a Secret Security Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment, and maintain a security clearance for access.
Security Clearance:
Secret security clearance is required. T5 background investigation may be required. Applicants selected must be a US Citizen in order to apply for a Secret Security Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment, and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
