Senior Enterprise Systems Administrator
Job Summary
Amentum is currently seeking a Senior Enterprise Systems Administrator to support an IT Managed Services program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems.
You will be a part of a team providing end-user support with processes for managing and delivering services that are ITIL® conformant. Resolve incidents, service requests, and problems associated with service failures or degradations that are related to hardware and software computing devices (including mobile equipment). Additionally, support multi-user rooms (e.g., Skype rooms, classrooms) and video and collaborative technologies.
As a member of the team, you will:
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based.
- Plan and monitor the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization and perform systems capacity analysis and planning.
- Plan and monitor assistance to users in accessing and using business systems.
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of client/server-based systems unique to EECS operations.
- Plan and monitor the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization and perform systems capacity analysis and planning.
- Plan and monitor assistance to EECS representatives and other users of the tools managed.
- Contribute to Project design and implementation of service improvement of tools and technologies under your administration.
- Work within a team environment and expected to maintain technical expertise in all areas of computing hardware and troubleshooting time-sensitive issues along with evaluating and reporting on new platform technologies and recommending viable and scalable solutions for incremental enhancements.
- Strong technical aptitude in supporting virtual servers.
Minimum Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required; must not possess dual citizenship with any other country other than the United States.
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience OR an Associates Degree and 5 years of experience OR High School Diploma / GED and 8 years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q clearance and maintain it for the life of the contract.
- Two years of experience with VMWare ESXi servers and virtual administration.
- Experience with deploying and administering virtual servers into a high-availability production environment.
- Experience with deploying / configuring Linux environments or connecting windows servers to Linux service providers through middleware configurations.
- Needs to be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with cloud/VM management technologies (self-service).
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DOE Q clearance or DOD TS.
- Experience with automation solutions (PowerShell, testplant, VB, etc) for process improvement efforts.
- Ability to team/collaborate with cybersecurity teams to develop plans for NIST/IATT controls for implementation of new enhancements.
- Ability to manage workflow from several sources and prioritize based on effective communication.
- Knowledge of administration of Avaya IP phone management systems.
- Knowledge of Computer Management Solutions, IT Cyber Policies, and common enterprise environments.
- Experience Leading IT teams or projects.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with others, communicating to your supervisor, and speaking with various stakeholders.
