Financial Analyst I (Remote)

As part of a team, the Financial Analyst will support the Amentum Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) program. The Financial Analyst will perform cost and financial analysis of data reported in the various accounting systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for billing into a subcontract invoice entry system, reconciliations of the billing between financial systems.
  • Enters and reviews travel and ODC expenses for contracted employees and tracks population fluctuations.
  • Ensures financial, accounting, audit compliance and ensuring detailed accurate financial analysis of the variances.
  • Compiles and reviews vendor payments and expense reports from multiple data sources to control funds and provide for proper financial administration
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to improve finance and accounting processes (invoicing, set-ups, financial forecasting, audit programs, etc.)
  • Cross functional collaboration with various functional support areas across the team including Corporate Accounting, Onboarding, Human Resources, and often communicates with employees to collect, analyze, and submit for reporting.
  • Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and SOX requirements.
  • Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, Hyperion, Cognos and Costpoint to manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited college in Accounting, Finance, Economics. An additional 2 years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in finance/accounting related position with emphasis on data entry and billing.

Expected Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to independently analyze billing invoices and supporting documents, identify discrepancies, communicate variances to pertinent parties, compile and submit to appropriate business entities.
  • Must have working knowledge of running pivot tables, writing formulas in Excel spreadsheets, and comfort in toggling between multiple datasets and spreadsheets at one time.
  • Functional knowledge in the use of financial software applications.
  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Must have a good work ethic and be available for nights and weekends if necessary to accommodate operational needs.
  • Must be able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision, identify potential problems and solutions, and effectively communicate at all levels of supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced operation
  • Must possess excellent oral, written, and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience with Costpoint
  • Familiarity with Federal Travel Regulation policy desired

  • Biweekly pay periods.

Pay Range $50,000 through $70,000 annualized
