Amentum is seeking a Financial Analyst.

Purpose and Scope:

The Financial Analyst provides professional accounting services by preparing, analyzing and processing financial statements, budgets, customer invoices and monthly reports for assigned business area.

Essential Responsibilities:

1) Prepares monthly and/or semi-monthly invoices utilizing the accounting system required to produce this data.

2) Prepares, researches, resolves and enters recurring and reversing journal entries and inter-company voucher transfers.

3) Prepare financial, cost, and budget reports and analysis as required including project estimates at completion (EACS)

4) Prepares audit schedules, reports and other financial data for internal/external auditors and departments as needed

5) Verifies the proper distribution of charges to specific accounts and contracts.

6) Maintains and establishes accounting job codes.

7) Updates and maintains accounts receivable aging schedules.

8) Prepares monthly and yearly journal entries including inter-company voucher transfers.

9) Performs month end and year-end closings.

10) Provides training and support to accounting staff members on an as needed basis.

11) Applies learned knowledge of practices and procedures to deal with issues or research problems that require further definition before resolution.

12) Assists in developing forecasts for revenue, costs (direct & indirect), bookings, cash and other financial metrics.

13) Position may be assigned to a specific targeted business area and may require additional or specific job duties related to assigned function which are not aforementioned.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (business management, finance, economics, construction management) and at least 4 to 7 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Prefer at least two (2) years in government contract accounting experience. Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP) required. Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) a plus. Ability to perform data extraction and manipulation, analyze financial data, and generate reports. Ability to analyze variances to budgets/forecasts/accruals, explain to management, and create corrective action plan. Demonstrate proficiency in finance and accounting relational databases and Microsoft applications. Ability to work with numbers and complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments, work with little supervision, and work well under pressure.
