ARFF Firefighter EMT-B (3125-003) (3125-003)
Is responsible for fire suppression, rescue & medical emergencies at the MNG AVN OSEG Site. Oversees fire & medical equipment in readiness to respond to emergency situations at the MNG AVN OSEG Heliport (Riyadh). Serves as an instructor/mentor to assigned MNG Military Firefighters. Ensures his equipment is ready to respond to all requests for emergency services (fire, EMS, special rescue). Prioritize support requirements to handle multiple simultaneous medical & fire emergencies. Maintain adequate resources & ensure they are always maintained in proper operation & in a mission ready state. Participate in weekly all hands fire department meetings with the fire chief. Performs all required proficiency training. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional & courteous manner. Ability to communicate effectively both orally & written. As part of the selection process, a physical will be conducted. Candidates must have normal color discrimination, visual acuity correctable to 20/20 in one eye, 20/30 in the other eye & not more than 20/200, each eye, uncorrected. Candidates must not have any record of pyro phobia, acrophobia or claustrophobia. Must have & maintain a BMI of 35 or less & successfully pass a physical fitness assessment annually. Reports to the Lieutenants, Assistant Chiefs & Fire Chief Aviation. Works within the rules & regulations of airfield flight operations & safety guidelines & applicable firefighting & emergency services guidelines. Has the authority to select & implement goals & objectives within the execution of duties & responsibilities of the fire department under the direction of the Fire Chief.Minimum Qualifications:
Education Level: High School graduate required; associates degree or higher preferred. International Fire Service Accreditation Congress certification, DoD and/or ProBoard required. Firefighter Level I/II required ARFF Firefighter required. Hazardous Materials Operations required. Hazardous Materials Technician/IC preferred. Driver Operator/ ARFF/ MWS preferred. Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B) required Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by a State Agency or the National Registry preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-years firefighting experience in either the U.S. Military, DOD or as a civilian required.
Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Expert knowledge of aircraft rescue & firefighting techniques, practices & equipment, as well as first aid & CPR. Considerable knowledge of the design & characteristics of military & civilian rotary wing aircraft. Considerable knowledge of exit & safety procedures of various military & civilian rotary wing aircraft, & structural fire/alarm detection / suppression systems & structural firefighting. Ability to quickly perform & direct all functions in difficult & hazardous situations, without hesitation. Ability to comprehend & apply instructions & communicate information in a clear & concise manner. Ability to learn, apply & teach aircraft rescue & firefighting techniques & practices. Ability to lead in potentially dangerous situations, make quick & sound decisions. Ability to perform physically demanding work & withstand very hazardous conditions. Skill in the operation of aircraft rescue & firefighting equipment, tools & vehicles, including highly specialized firefighting apparatus. Possesses Class B driver’s license.
