This Studio Designer who will work within our Government Public Sector (GPS) Pursuit Center of Excellence (PCOE). The successful candidate will support Primary Designers in the development of client proposals. This position requires experience in multiple software packages and the ability to produce large volumes of work consistently and accurately. They will also be responsible for complying with firm branding guidelines, departmental procedures and standards, internal client preferences and instructions, and mandatory solicitation requirements. The Designer is accountable for undertaking prescribed and independent training, on-the-job learning assignments, and other opportunities to ensure growth and advancement in Graphic Design and their team's development.

This position may require some travel (10-20%) to support active pursuits, working on-site with engagement teams. Travel may increase as this designer advances in our design agency model.

Work you'll do

As a Designer on our team you will:

  • Report to Design Studio Lead as part of GPS Design Team
  • Effectively support GPS Primary Designers on large, complex projects
    • Support lead designer on proposal and orals efforts with complex scope
  • Collaborate with Primary Designers to conceptualize imagery and pursuit win themes, and ensure that key messages are enhanced through creative design
  • Lead proposals with limited scope
    • Develop presentation and template themes
    • Coordinate with USI, as needed, to ensure project milestones are met
  • Manage design process
    • Create and update graphics
    • Adjudicate/mitigate conflicts in design content
    • Ensure accuracy and currency of published graphics, QA all graphics
  • Receive and interpret written instructions and/or rough sketches and translate them into creative and impactful print and/or digital layouts/designs for materials including, but not limited to: infographics, presentations, proposals, and large-scale exhibits.
  • Ensure a creative yet consistent look and feel that enhances readability, draws in the reader, and adheres to and supports the Deloitte brand, visual identity, legal guidelines, and messaging; ensure brand and visual identity compliance
  • Demonstrate the ability to think creatively and express ideas orally and in writing; demonstrate listening and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate good judgment and task management skills in order to balance priorities and communicate with Primary Designers and Design Team Leaders in an effort to meet and exceed project deadlines and commitments; keep GPS Team informed of projects and progress
  • Demonstrate outstanding attention to detail and quality under challenging deadlines
  • Ability to learn and perform document formatting on regular basis, style and macro editing, and working with graphic elements in MS Word application.
  • Ability to safely operate production room equipment, such as: large printers (including plotter printer), binding machines, cutters and others.
  • Ensure accuracy and currency of published graphics
  • Manage content on SharePoint
  • Ensures that proposals adhere to RFP specifications
  • Participate in initiatives for design and/or pursuit projects not related to RFP Responses
  • May interact directly with account staff, including executives
  • Document formatting using Macro-enabled templates
    • Update Macro-enabled word templates to customize for individual proposals
    • Ensure that proposal documents/graphics adhere to RFP delivery specifications, Deloitte quality standards, and brand standards
  • Digital delivery and print production support


Qualifications

Required
  • 1-2 years of applied design and layout/formatting experience.
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Willingness and ability to create an elegant, designed "feel" in programs such as PPT and Word that were not written primarily as design vehicles
  • Speed and agility; ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure within tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to manage own time and take initiative
  • Professional client service manner and ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Experience working with teams in a professional services or large matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and synthesize direction from many individuals
  • May occasionally lead small pursuits as necessary due to work load and in preparation for career progression
  • Travel may be required - up to 10-20% per year, as dictated by pursuit demands

Preferred, but not required:
  • Proposal Design, Development, and Production experience
