Job Summary

Provides supervision, direction, and support to personnel assigned to the Maintenance Department. Positions reporting to this function: The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day to day execution of the maintenance program and maintenance section personnel under this effort.

  1. Ensures that all quality standards and metrics are met, and that all work is properly completed.
  2. Manages assigned resources necessary to accomplish the mission.
  3. Enforces strict adherence to technical data and management procedures.
  4. Adjusts resources to meet production requirements.
  5. Manages the special certification roster.
  6. Ensures accurate daily documentation of maintenance actions.
  7. Reviews and evaluates management and production effectiveness.
  8. Initiates management actions to meet new workloads or correct reported/perceived deficiencies.
  9. Participates in the maintenance planning cycle.
  10. Ensures only qualified personnel accomplish maintenance with the appropriate equipment and tools.
  11. Ensures compliance with safety directives, appropriate occupational safety and health standards, and applicable industrial safety publications. Those occupational training requirements that require documentation will be annotated on the appropriate records.
  12. Ensures scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions are entered and completed in the Army War Reserve Deployment System (AWRDS).
  13. Advises the production supervision of conditions that may disrupt the orderly and controlled execution of the maintenance plan.
  14. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Ensures all personnel understand and follow all Company and Government policies, procedures and directives.
  15. Ensure all personnel follow all Safety directives for APS-2.
  16. Able to manage employee vacation, sick leave, time sheets, labor cards and job management.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification & Experience Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  1. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of maintenance repairs on a variety of equipment and at least seven years of recent supervisory experience with a comprehensive knowledge of military governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions. Background in in military maintenance management a plus.
  2. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of installed product software at the user / operator level, understand automated data processing policies and procedures as they pertain to assigned equipment, both Logistics STAMIS and Installation desktop computer for the areas of operations which allow the
  3. Ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to the customers.
  4. Able to manage small teams of employees to include time sheets, man hours, sick leave and production.
  5. In the absence of the manager, perform those duties as directed.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills are required.
  7. Must possess the appropriate verbal and written communications to conduct meetings, evaluate plans, and prepare reports, plans and working instructions.
  8. Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  9. General knowledge of Logistics Information Management (LIM) systems:GCSS-A and Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW) is helpful.
  10. Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.k)Must be able to meet and maintain all LIMS access requirements (Common Access Card).
  11. Specialized knowledge and skillsMust be able to speak, read, write, and understand English, and preferably German.
  12. Ability to independently operate with minimal supervision.
  13. Must possess a strong knowledge of operations, logistics, and maintenance.
  14. Must have demonstrated leadership and management skills, including a professional demeanor.
  15. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work and communicate with other effectively.
  16. A valid US Driver’s License is required prior to deployment.
  17. Must be a U.S. CitizenMust have or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Military experience preferred.
