Overview: Responsible for performing duties as an Instructor Pilot-Trainer in the UH-60M Aircraft and associated simulation device(s). Conduct initial Aircraft Qualification Course (AQC) training, continuation training and evaluation of customer pilots in accordance with approved Saudi Arabian National Guard/Ministry of National Guard publications (FTG’s, AR’s, TC’s, etc.). Conduct academic instruction and hands-on performance based training and administer evaluations to ensure pilot proficiency and standardization of training. Responsible for maintaining Individual Gradebook Folders, Individual Aircrew Training Folders (IATF) and completing required training, currency, and readiness entries. Conduct UH-60M Series aircraft specific ground school based training and instrument instruction in a classroom environment, aircraft or flight simulation device(s). Flight instruction training duties include: contact, basic instrument, and basic combat skills under Day, Night, and NVG conditions to U.S. Army standards or MNG-AVN IAW government approved DATM, CMP, FTG, and POI requirements. Instruction may include any combination of individual or group instruction in an academic classroom environment, aircraft, or simulator.

Duties/Responsibilities: Train and evaluate Aviation pilots in the UH-60M Aircraft, conduct initial Aircraft Qualification Course (AQC) training in accordance with the approved DATM and specific unit ATP guidelines. Develop or update Aviation Aircrew Training Program, appropriate UH-60M/MNG-AVN related manuals, CMP and POI in accordance with customer guidance. Verify and confirm that all required flight-training publications are current and complete. Conduct and evaluate individual readiness level progression tasks, to include instrument flight tasks, during day, night, and night vision goggle (NVG), and instrument flight rules (IFR). Prepare pilots through realistic mission training flight maneuvers under local environmental conditions to include dust landings, and weather specific desert training. Provide aircrew proficiency training in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) in and outside controlled airspace under General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) rules. Attends meetings as required with Customers. Recommend aviation Instructor Pilot and Pilot in Command appointments to customer leadership. Responsible for providing direct interface and daily status reports as required between staff for training status, mission assignments, mission planning, and crew status. Assist in Functional Check Flights as required as directed by MNG counterparts. Able to perform duties in a culturally sensitive environment and maintain a professional approach, attitude, and appearance at all times. Develops, updates, and performs as SME in all POI and Flight Training Guide areas, and subjects as required by the customer leadership. Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities. Supervisory Responsibilities: Report directly to the Senior Flight Instructor Examiner. Supervise all assigned Instructor Pilots and Battalion support members. Supervisor of all flight training related functions to include daily flight training operations and endorsement of customer and additional instructor pilots or unit trainers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of the UH-60M Instructor Pilot Course (IPC)/Methods of Instruction (MOI) course at an authorized Aviation Proponent School or an IP equivalency evaluation administered by a standardization instructor pilot (SP) selected by the Directorate of Evaluations and Standardization (DES) required or equivalent. Qualified on the UH-60M Series Aircraft. FAA Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter Instructor Pilot certificate (CFI) or equivalent (GACA) preferred. FAA Commercial Rotorcraft Helicopter Instrument Pilot certificate (CFII) or equivalent (GACA) preferred.

Experience: Experience in Utility/Lift helicopter mission required. Must have been qualified as a Pilot in Command. Minimum of 1500 total flight hours required in the UH-60 series aircraft required. Minimum of 300 Instructor Pilot Flight hours in the UH60M series aircraft required. Minimum of 500 Standardization Instructor Pilot flight hours required. Minimum of 250 Night Vision Goggle (NVG) flight hours required. Combat experience preferred. Instructor pilot experience at an USAACE approved school of instruction preferred. Experience at Battalion level or greater as Standardization Instructor Pilot required.

Specific knowledge, skill, and ability: Must possess and maintain an FAA Class II flight physical or GACA equivalent. Knowledge of Army Aviation training concepts, administration, and logistics. Ability to communicate both orally and written in English. Ability to effectively deal with people in the coordination of staff and team members. Ability to communicate effectively with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Possesses a valid driver’s license. Any or all of the above minimum qualifications may be waived by Chief of MNG-Aviation.
