**Position** INSTRUCTOR ELT (AVN)**Req Code** 4280-025**Location** DIRAB**Grade** 3-L1**Basic Functions**Teaches the English language and American culture to MNG personnel to assist them in achieving the mission-goal of English language qualification.**Major Duties and Responsibilities****A.** **Duties/Responsibilities:**1. Teaches English to MNG personnela. Preparation of daily lesson plansb. Development of supplementary materialsc. Use of appropriate techniques in the classroomd. Managing student assignments and activitiese. Providing remedial instruction when required2. Substitutes for the Principal Trainer when required3. Complies with all Vinnell policies and procedures4. Performs other mission- or administrative-related duties as required or assigned**B.** **Independence:** Works under the general guidance of the Chief, ELTS and Principal Trainers, ELTS**C. Supervisory Responsibilities:** None**Minimum Qualifications****A.** **Education Level: In order of preference:**1. M.A. in teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), Education or Applied Linguistics2. B.A. or B.S. in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), Education or Applied Linguistics3. B.A. or B.S. in any discipline plus a certification in teaching English as a foreign or second language4. RMIT English Language Test for Aviation (RELTA)/English Language Proficiency for Aeronautical Communication (ELPAC) /Versant Aviation English Certification Test Certifications or Experience5. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Certification or Experience6. Certificate in Teaching English to Adults (CELTA)/Diploma in Teaching English to Adults (DELTA)**B.** **Experience:** Minimum two years teaching English as a foreign language or second language. Aviation english teaching experience preferred**C.** **Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:** Native speaker of the American language; training at American universities; ability to teach and evaluate students effectively; skill in managing a class; skill in using language lab equipment; skill in using SMART Boards. Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office Professional software.
