Overview:
Responsible for the instruction of the American Language Course (ALC), Aviation English for Special Purposes, Remedial and Refresher English and any other English language courses to be offered at the National Guard Aviation Institute English Language Training program (AELT). Responsible for daily preparation of material as needed for proper instruction. Responsible for enforcement of MNG policy and procedures as directed. Perform other duties as assigned and/or directed by management. Reports to the Aviation English Language Training Manager. Works within the scope and guidelines of the Defense Language Institute (DLI) curriculum implementation and customer/client regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education Level: M.Ed. MA TESOL (or TESOL Related), MA Applied Linguistics Preferred; BA any subject and 120 hour TESOL certification with in class practicum or US. teaching license (English) required; certification in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) preferred. Required upon assignment. DELTA preferred, required upon assignment. DLI observer professional course (instructor) preferred.
Experience: Minimum (5) years teaching English as a foreign language; previous experience working in a military environment preferred; previous experience with ALC curriculum preferred. Previous experience with Aviation Specialized English desired. Completion of internal Specialized Language Training program required upon assignment. Previous experience in an aviation field preferred.
Specific, Knowledge, Skills, & Ability: Knowledge of policies, principles, and procedures of Aviation military staff organization and operations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Ability to deal effectively with people in the completion of staff functions. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer/client in a professional and courteous manner. Proficient in MS Office Professional software required (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook, and Publisher). Proficient in Microsoft Project and SharePoint highly desired. Possess a valid driver's license.
