Overview:

Serves as a staff trainer for all matters concerning Aviation logistics operations and plans (general), aviation supply, aviation maintenance, aviation transportation, and aviation services. The Aviation Staff Trainer Logistic is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating and supervising of all current and future command operations, directly supporting the Office of Program Management (Aviation) team to meet the Ministry of the National Guard’s operational requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Aviation. Developing the logistic plan to support operations (with the G-3 [S-3]). Coordinating with the G-3 (S-3) and G-1/AG (S-1) on equipping replacement personnel and units. Coordinating with the support unit commander on the current and future support capability of that unit. Determining supply requirements, except medical (with the support unit commander and the G-3 [S-3]. Coordinating all classes of supply except class VIII (which is coordinated through medical supply channels). Coordinating the requisition, acquisition, and storage of supplies and equipment, and the maintenance of materiel records. Recommending CSS priorities and CSRs. Calculating and recommending to the G-3 (S-3) basic and prescribed loads, and helping the G-3 (S-3) determine RSRs. Coordinating the allocation of petroleum products to subordinate units. Monitoring and analyzing the equipment readiness status. Determining maintenance workload requirements, less medical (with the support command). Coordinating equipment recovery and evacuation operations (with the support command). Conducting operational and tactical planning to support mode and terminal operations, and movement control. Planning administrative troop movements (with the G-3 [S-3]. Coordinating transportation assets for other Services. Coordinating the construction of facilities and installations, except for fortifications and signal systems. Coordinating field sanitation. Coordinating organizational clothing and individual equipment exchange and replacement. Coordinating or providing food preparation, water purification, mortuary affairs, aerial delivery, laundry, shower, and clothing/light textile repair. Coordinating the transportation, storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous material or hazardous waste. Reports to the Director of Aviation Training and coordinates directly with his OPM and MNG counterparts regarding his staff work assignments and priorities

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred Graduate of US Army Aviation Officer Advanced Course, Combined Logistics Officer Advance Course or Warrant Advanced Course.

Experience: 6 years’ experience in US Army Aviation Logistics/Supply Chain Management (LSCM) or 6 years military Aviation LSCM, Former LTC, MAJ, CW4, or CW3 preferred. Has held positions as either a Director of Logistics, Support Operations Officer, Echelons Above Brigade Maintenance or Logistics Planner, DA Logistics Staff Officer, JCS Logistics Staff Officer, Logistics School Commandant, or Corps/ MACOM Logistics Staff Officer.

Specific knowledge, skill, and ability: Knowledge of policies, principles, and procedures of military staff organization and operations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Ability to deal effectively with people in the interaction of staff. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Knowledge of pertinent KSA (Labor Law), SANG and OPM-SANG operational procedures concerning job related activities desired. Proficient in MS Office Professional software required (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook and Publisher). Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint and Project highly desired. Possess a valid drivers’ license.
