Material Expediter
Amentum is looking for a Material Expediter to join our team in Chantilly, VA! You will perform various duties throughout the work area to facilitate the expedient movement of goods. Duties will be varied.
Must have an active Top Secret/SCI.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Material Expediter executes the following: locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of plant to expedite processing of goods, according to predetermined schedules and priorities, and keeps related records.
Reviews production schedules inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders.
Confers with department supervisors to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials.
Locates and moves materials to specified production areas, using cart or hand truck, and records quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand.
Work may include the following task: directing power truck operators or material handling laborer to expedite movement of materials between storage and production areas, compare work ticket specifications with materials at work stations to verify appropriateness of material in use, prepare worker production records and timecards, and may update and maintain inventory records, using computer terminal.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
Three (3) years of job-related experience.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Specific training and thorough knowledge in warehouse operations plus a working knowledge of warehouse related computer software.
Knowledge in specialized handling and storage procedures of hazardous materials as required by regulation and safety requirements.
Ability to perform the required physical qualifications of the position, including: the ability to lift or carrying up to 50 lbs; stand and/or walk for prolonged/extensive amounts of time; can use a ladder or lift and work on structures or equipment above ground level; work in cramped or uncomfortable places and positions; can push, pull, or lift heavy equipment, supplies or parts.
Good written and spoken communication and analytical skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have an active Top Secret/SCI
