System Analyst Senior / Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will require effective communication and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment. Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Preparing equipment for deployment by loading software, configuring, and testing prior to shipment. Some additional items specific to helpdesk and remote tech support for customers.

  • Analyzing contract requirements to develop solutions using various sensors and Navy owned sensor system software.

  • Applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate solutions to customer requirements.

  • Analyzing to include evaluating power requirements, local power available and any other site preparations necessary to support an installation.

  • Analyzing and architecture analysis include hardware requirements, software application, network administration, communications systems, cameras, and computer systems.

  • Based on analyses, develops overall system architecture which includes the list of applicable sensors and locations for installations. Note that requirement analysis and architecture development are in support of Department of Defense ranges and multi-domain awareness in remote international locations, subjected to extreme environmental conditions.

  • Providing technical and engineering support services, works with various types of electronic/computer equipment and related devices, directing the performance of or performing one or more of the following tasks: performing on site repair of systems; plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems; installations of systems or system components; participates in setting up, installing and initiating the operation of, servicing of and training on, systems in the field; develops work plans required to ensure that all equipment has been tested and operational before scheduled use; designs and develops special equipment or procedures required to perform calibrations or test.

  • Applying technical experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and acquisition and resource management.

  • Reviewing and preparing engineering and technical analysis, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.

  • Installing of Automatic Identification System (AIS) receivers and antennas, radars, Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) receivers and antennas, security cameras, surveillance cameras, VHF/HF communications sets, microwave communications systems, satellite communications systems, domain awareness systems that include workstations, servers, and monitors, generator sets, renewable energy systems, etc.

  • Installing of sensor systems requires conducting work on towers and buildings and could involve the use of heavy equipment for site preparation. Because of extensive knowledge of the system and the components, may perform duties as a trainer.

  • Provide customer support through a variety of communication mediums (Ticketing system, BBM, HipChat, Sametime).

  • Use and add to the Knowledge Base self-help portal.

  • Perform system status and issue resolution reporting.

  • Identify trends based on collected performance and repair data.

  • Maintain contact and technical information on deployed sites.

  • Other duties as assigned by Program leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Use of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio)

• Able to lift 75 lbs

• Valid Passport and driver's license

• Ability to assist in overseas installation projects as needed

• Experience with SolarWinds Helpdesk

• Understanding of basic RF Concepts

• Experience with RADAR system installation and maintenance

• Experience with 3CX or other VOIP solution

• Windows Server Installation, Backup, and Recovery

• Cisco IOS for routers and switches

• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

• Equipment Testing

• Network+ and A+ Certifications

• Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT)

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)

• Ability to obtain and maintain US DOD Secret Security Clearance throughout employment in this role

EDUCATION

• Degree and experience must be in engineering, computer science, or another technical field.

• Six (6) years additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

• Associates Degree plus four (4) years additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Work Conditions:

Work schedule is typically Monday to Friday standard day time hours however when there are teams fielding new installations there will be occasions for flex to off hours and weekends, evenings, holidays.
The workplace location will be California, Maryland. Extensive travel may be required.

Conditions will vary. Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. This classification’s activities range from, an office-like environment with extensive sitting demands to a flight line-like environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May occasionally be required to lift objects whose weight exceeds 75 pounds. Special vision abilities to perform this job are close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

The diversity of work conditions may range from an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. Some work will take place at heights and may require climbing.
