Overview:

Responsible for functioning as aviation ground support equipment (AGSE) repairer and trainer. Troubleshoots, inspects and performs unit level maintenance on AGSE to include but not limited to the Aviation Ground Power Unit (AGPU), Generic Aircraft Nitrogen Generator (GANG) and the aircraft towing systems. Maintains MHE, Diesel Generators and small electric engine equipment. Assists in the training and mentoring of MNG Soldiers on a daily basis on AGSE Maintenance IAW applicable TM’s.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair assigned aviation ground support equipment to include but not limited to: Aviation Ground Power Unit (AGPU), Generic Aircraft Nitrogen Generator (GANG) and the aircraft towing systems. Diagnose and repair assigned GSE equipment to include but not limited to: 3K-10K Fork lift, Diesel Generators, and small electric engine equipment. Responsible for the maintenance of log books and records on equipment to include repair parts requisitioning. Assist in the training of MNG Soldiers enrolled in the GSE Maintenance OJT program. Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, standards. Perform other tasks as assigned. Supports the Airfield Foreign Object Debris program. Reports to the Vehicle/ GSE Production Control Representative.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education Level: Civilian High School Diploma or equivalent and vocational Training in Automotive Repair.

Experience: Four (4) years of recent experience in the diagnostics, repair and maintenance of Aviation Ground Support Equipment, MHE, Diesel Engines and Electric motor maintenance.

Specific knowledge, skill, and ability: Knowledgeable in working with technical maintenance manuals. Ability to communicate in English. Work safely and an ability to work well with others. Possesses a valid driver’s license.
