Plumber / Pipefitter - United States Air Force Academy - Colorado Springs, CO
Amentum, a large government contractor, is seeking a Plumber to support the United States Air Force Academy is responsible for exterior utility maintenance and repair to include water, sewer, natural gas, fire suppression, and oil-water separators, grease traps, above-ground storage tanks, high temp, and chill water supply systems on the post. In addition to this, a plumber is also responsible for all interior plumbing maintenance and repair.
POSITION SUMMARY
Installs, operates, maintain, and repair interior plumbing, water distribution, wastewater collection, fire suppression, and backflow systems and components. Monitor systems operations to ensure efficiency and compliance. Comply with safety, OSHA, and environmental regulation for hazardous material, and government standards in addition to company rules and regulations. Installs and operates field equipment. Perform inspection, recurring maintenance, and seasonal overhaul on systems and components. Troubleshoot malfunctions. Uses drawings and schematics to analyze and isolate system malfunctions. Removes, repairs, and replaces defective components. Candidate must be capable of solving complex maintenance problems independently.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must pass a company-required drug test
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Previous work in the Utilities/Plumbing field is a plus
- Must be willing to work overtime/shifting schedule
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
Pay rate: $30.80 / hour
